Mr. Christian Pabalan, MA
I am proud to be serving the School of the Epiphany as the middle school Social Studies and Religion teacher.
I am a lifelong learner. A born and raised San Franciscan, I attended St. Stephen School and Lowell High School in the city. I then attended the University of San Francisco for my BA in History (United States Concentration) and MA in Teaching. I guess I never left! Teaching has taken me to places I never thought I would travel to. For two summers, I taught English in Jiangyin, China, through the America Bridges China program. In 2018, I was selected to participate in a seminar in Washington, D.C. along with 30 other teachers across the United States with the Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History. I have a passion for learning, collaborating with other educators, and taking it back to my school to share with my students. I enjoy anything creative, from drawing and writing poetry to cooking. During the weekends, I can be hiking somewhere around the Bay Area or hanging out with family and friends. As a Filipino-American, I have always been interested in learning about the different Philippine cultures, though I am still trying to become fluent in Tagalog. (I can understand it, though!) As a teacher, I hope to instill a passion for learning in my students. My goal is to empower them to become respectful, self-disciplined, and independent learners who are able to express themselves. |
